I went to the County City Hall yesterday for filing a quit claim deed.
A rough looking man approached me asking me for 75 cents, telling me he just got out of jail, and had no money for even a bus fair to get home.
He asked a bunch people before me and no one even stopped, I kind of tried blowing him off, telling him I had no change, which I didn’t, to which he responded, well do you have a dollar bill.
So I stopped, and within just a couple of seconds, I thought to myself:
1. This guy is good, I wanted to blow him off, because I had no change, but he gave my mind a very specific command, by asking for a dollar bill, which honestly I wasn’t even thinking off.
He was very clear in what he wanted, and there’s a great marketing lesson there. If you want your prospect to give you something or think of something, then be very specific about it, don’t assume they will, because the brain only understands specific commands.
2. Ok, more importantly, I thought, a dollar bill will not make any difference in my life. But this poor guy, who I have no idea what his story, and it doesn’t really matter, but he does need it.
He needs a bus fair to go home. And with one measly dollar, I can help him at least a little.
So I turn around and hand him a dollar bill.
You should have seen the look on his face.
This big guy, probably 6’3, must have thanked me 5 or 6 times.
Again, I don’t know his story, but it looked as if I was the only person in the world who ever gave him anything.
So I went about my business, thinking about this whole thing, and for the rest of the day, I felt very good about myself.
I saw a dozen people just pass by him without even looking, and I was the only one who stopped, and with just one buck, I made a difference. He was able to get home.
Now here’s a deeper lesson here.
We attract people and things into our life based on how we feel. And this small act of kindness, made me feel real good. The more I thought about it, the better I felt, and who knows what these great feelings are attracting into my life.
Sometimes we get so focused and wrapped up in our own thoughts, and on our personal agenda, that we forget, that we can do small things that create huge waves.
Let me paint this picture for you.
This is totally hypothetical, but this is how the world we live in works, and bare with me.
Ok, let’s assume this guy who just got out of jail, knows nothing else but crime. That’s how he survives in this world.
Chances are he’s like that because of his maybe unfavorable circumstances that he was brought up in.
So his beliefs are that everybody is out to get you, and to get ahead you must steal, or whatever.
But now all of a sudden someone comes along, and gives him a dollar for a bus fair. Possibly for the first time in his life he received something out of kindness.
This one act will not override his 30+ years of negative programming, BUT a seed is planted there.
And so tomorrow he may have another chance to go rob somebody and all of a sudden he remembers that there are kind, caring people out there who may help him if he just asks.
So he starts thinking in a different direction. He may end up getting a job, and becoming productive, and now other people benefit from his productivity. He’s making some money, so now he’s a better consumer of products and services, and so on ….
And to think, that one dollar bill has caused all of that to happen.
Now, this is completely hypothetical, and is my imagination.
I have no idea who he is, what he’s gonna do, and if he even cares about the fact that I cared enough to stop.
But it’s possible, and it makes me feel good, knowing that I have added to the good in this world, and possibly caused a big ripple effect of more good things.
So my question to you is, what ripple effects are you causing?
We all can do small things, that cause huge ripple effects.
You know the giver, always benefits more than the receiver. It’s a universal principle. Here I am a day after this happened and I’m feeling great, still talking about it.
My vibrations are high, I know I’m attracting great things in my life.
So I end with this thought, let’s all be a little more giving, if not for the good of others, at least do it so you get the benefit.
Feel free to post your thoughts on this.
And if you like this post, please share it with others by digging it. I think more people in this world can use this type thinking.

I think You hit it right on the head. Too often, we see Giving to others as taking away from ourselves, instead of seeing it as a Blessing to be able to help. You might not ever know how you touched this man’s life, but it will eventually manifest in blessings 10 fold for you.
Keep up the good work Vitaly, The world needs more people like you actively living in spirit.
Namaste,
C. Prosperity
