Most people if asked, will tell you that they don’t like sales people, they don’t like junk mail and they can’t stand the amount of emails they get daily.
And so people are shy about admitting they’re in sales. They call themselves, financial professionals, realtors, account executives, pharmaceutical reps, etc…
The thing is that we are all in sales. If you own your own business, you’re in sales and marketing. If you’re in a network marketing business, you’re in sales.
Everything is sales. That’s the backbone of our free enterprise system. If it weren’t for sales, there would be no business, and there would be no jobs to support the business.
The reason I bring all this up, is that a person should feel good about the fact that they’re in sales and marketing. If you have a product or a service, regardless of what you may call your business, you’re in sales. Because if you don’t sell that product or service, you don’t make money. That’s the bottom line.
When you feel good about you do, that feeling is carried through in your conversations with your customers, clients, or patients. Professionals that I know that feel this way about what they do, seem to magically attract the people that want to do business with them. And the ones that feel that everyone hates salespeople and the junk mail they get, seem to attract those.
So be proud of the fact that you make your money by offering value to others. Because the one that offers the most value to the most people, makes the most money.
