A few days ago, I got a phone call from a business associate that I deal with from time to time.. This guy at first always seems upbeat and positive (at first). But when you ask him how’s everything, his reply is always, just trying to make a living.
And you know what, that’s exactly what he does. He just makes a living. Always has to get an extra part time job to make ends meet. His clients are always problem clients. He always has to run around and chase them to get anywhere. (I’m using his vocabulary)
I can go on and on, but you get the picture. Is it any wonder he gets these clients and he ends up in these situations? Not at all. Anytime I try to tell him all the great things that are happening and what he should be focusing on, he tells me how he doesn’t have enough money for this and then the kids, and blah blah blah.
It’s his choice to see his situation that way. And it’s always up to all of us what we choose to focus on.
The law of attraction says that whatever you focus on you get more of. And we’re all guilty of focusing on something we don’t want at some point. The key for me has been to identify when that’s happening and stop that thought process. Thoughts create feeling and they are magnets for attracting more of what we’re feeling at that moment.
When you worry about business situations or project thoughts of negativity, that energy creates more of the same.
There’s a story I once heard from a very successful financial mogul. This guy said that at one time there were 2 people in the same city in his company. Both had the same title, same products, same compensation system. Both were the same sex, age, and happily married. Both worked equally hard and had about the same number of years in the business. But one was making $500,000 a year and the other $50,000.
What was the difference. This guy told us that after researching, he came up with a conclusion, that the only difference between those two men was how they felt about what they did. At the time I heard the story, I didn’t fully understand the meaning of the feeling he was referring to. But when I began to apply this principle in my business, feeling great about what I do, expecting good things at all times, and being grateful for what I have, magic started to happen.
