I’ve been putting off golf for some time now. This summer a friend of mine invited me to a range to hit some balls. Surely I got addicted to the game. My buddy spent over $500 on his set of clubs, but since I just started, I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on clubs yet, so I went to Craigslist.org.
If you’ve never heard of this site, it’s a great place to find awesome deals. So I searched in the sports section, in my city, and within a few minutes I found several listings. I contacted a guy who was a few miles away from me, and he had almost a brand new set for $25, that I picked up the same day. His friend made those custom for him, and he gets a new set made every year. They were in perfect condition, and he only used them a few times. A similar set was selling for over $300 in store that I also checked with.
I was so excited. So if you haven’t used craigslist, you’ll find it a great place for deals. But more importantly, I set the intention of finding a great set of golf clubs for little money, in less than 1 day, I got them.
In my experience, you can do this with everything, including marketing your business.
