I heard a great quote on the radio today, by an unknown author.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called present.”
That’s a great way to look at it. As far as our past is concerned, it’s gone. We can’t change it, only learn from it.
Jim Rohn says “Don’t use the past as a hammer, but use it as a book.” That’s a good outlook on the past. We can’t change it, so why waste our mental energy on it. All that does is recreates in the present, by us focusing on it.
Tomorrow is truly a mystery. We don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Goal setting, and dreaming about the future is very important, but we only live in the NOW, not in the future.
Even when we think and ponder about the future, we’re doing it NOW. So it’s the present, the now, where we have power. We only have power of what we’re doing right now.
Your subconscious mind does not know the difference whether it was before, now, or hasn’t happened at all. All it knows is what you’re communicating to it in the form of a feeling, and you can only do it right now. You can’t communicate in the past or in the future.
So it’s what you’re thinking, dreaming, believing, feeling, and doing right now, that gets impressed into your consciousness, and creates the life you desire.
Too many people put off doing it later, but later never comes. Because you’re always doing it later. Now is the time to act. And when I say act, again, I’m talking about both the mental and the physical effort required.
Act as if you already have whatever it is you desire to have. (I’m not using the word WANT, because when you want something, you are communicating a feeling of wanting, or lacking.) Everything you desire is at your disposal, you just have to think, feel, and act as if you already have it.
And remember that NOW is the time, not later. Right in this very moment, your subconscious mind is delivering to you an exact match of what you’ve been communicating to it.
