Recently I got a great email from one of the newsletters I subscribe to. The person was describing how much he hates going to Walmart.
Now before you get all bent out of shape, try to understand his logic. The reason he despises going to Walmart, is because most of the people who shop at Walmart are usually scraping pennies. They’re cutting coupons, trying to save as much as possible. The whole idea of that store is about saving money. And he wants nothing to do with that type of mentality, nor surround himself with those type of people.
It was a pretty long email, but here are my thoughts on it. First of all, I personally don’t despise Walmart, however I completely agree with his thinking in terms of trying not to put yourself where you’re surrounded by others who are consistently in the poverty mindset.
For me it’s Big Lots. My wife loves going to Big Lots, because sometimes she finds a good deal on something good there, but me, I never walk into that store, because it depresses me. The people that shop there, and the attitudes that I see. And I don’t want to feel depressed. To me that’s more important than saving a couple of bucks.
Now there’s nothing wrong with those people, but when you’re constantly putting yourself in a situation where you’re surrounded by others who have lack and limitation as their dominating attitudes about money, how do you think it effects you?
If you think it doesn’t, think again. The saying ‘birds of a feather flock together’ is very true. Thoughts are energy. And when you’re around people who have those thoughts, and are sending those types of low frequency vibrations, you are picking that up and it is effecting how you think and feel.
This post isn’t about Walmart or Big Lots, and not about judging what kind of people shop there. This is about becoming aware of your environment and guarding your thoughts.
You ever notice when you walk into some stores, you feel good and empowered, and then you walk into others, and you feel a little out of place. That feeling tells you that there’s a mismatch with the vibrations that are around you. And if you constantly put yourself in situations where the vibrations around you are not what you’re after, then why put yourself in that situation?
There’s nothing wrong with coupons and discounts. However, what kind of vibration are you sending out when cutting coupons and pinching pennies.
The last thing I want to do is tell anyone how to live and what choices they should make.
BUT, when you set big goals and objectives for yourself, and you’re after creating abundance in your life, then be careful what you allow to go into your mind and who you let effect your energy level.
